Scenario of State of Rajasthan

Rajasthan, the largest state of India, shares its boundary with the states of Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat. Rajasthan enjoys proximity to the largest urban conglomerate of Delhi-NCR region.

Rajasthan offers tremendous investment opportunities in Agro and Food Processing Sector. It is the largest producer of Psyllium, Fenugreek, coarse cereals, coriander, Goat Meat and the second largest producer of pulses, oilseeds, cumin and garlic in India.

The state has an international airport and an air-cargo complex in Jaipur, the state’s capital, and eight inland container depots.

Advantage Rajasthan

  • Rajasthan have five Agro Food Parks in Kota, Jodhpur, Sriganganagar, Alwar and Ajmer.

  • The State has one of the highest livestock populations and produces 10% of India’s total Milk output and a third of Sheep and Goat Milk. Rajasthan has the distinction of having largest population of cattle, sheep and camels. Animal husbandry is the major economic activity contributing about 11% of the State's net Gross Domestic Product.

  • 40% of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) which is India’s biggest infrastructure transformation project, passes through the State of Rajasthan.

  • More than 10,000 units are operational in the micro and small scale sector and approximately 75 units in the medium and large scale sector. Total of 2 Agri Export Zones, with focus on spices, have been identified by the State Government, five districts for coriander (Kota, Baran, Jhalawar, Bundi and Chittorgarh) and five for cumin (Barmer, Jalore, Jodhpur, Nagaur and Pali). 141 main market yards and 315 sub market yards, 4 big pack houses, 5 small pack houses and 7 cold storages are in operation and one walk-in cooling chamber at Jaipur Airport.

  • The state has approximately 150-160 cold storages with a total capacity of 2.55 Lakh MT.

Largest Producer : Rajasthan Produce Near about 48% Mustard of India. Contributes 35% of Goat Meat in India. Largest Producer of Psyllium and leading producer of Fennel, Fenugreek, Coriander and Garlic. State is in the list of Leading producer of Food Grains.

  • Total Export from the State for Agro and Food Products was INR 4,525.87 Crores in the year 2018-19.

  • GSDP of the state stood at INR 10.21 Trillion with a growth rate of 12.3% (FY 2019-20) at current prices.

  • NSDP of the State stood at INR 9.16 Trillion  in Fy 2019-20 at current prices.

  • Per Capita Income INR 1,18,159 in 2019-20 at current prices.
