Project Description

The proposed project envisions setting up a manufacturing unit for Traditional Indian Curries, Biryani, Dal, Dal Khichadi, Dal Fry, Chana Masala, Rice + Dal, and instant vegetables in retort pouches. The product manufactured by the unit will fall under the Ready to Eat (RTE) food category.

Ready-to-eat foods (RTE) are convenience foods, enclosed in reportable pouches that only need to be cut and heated before being served. Instant vegetables in retort pouches fall under this category and find application not only as a home meal replacement in working-class households but also in fast-food restaurants and multi-cuisine food joints. Foods preserved by combined methods viz, blanching, drying, the addition of preservatives, and in-pack pasteurization, remain safe even without refrigeration and are high in sensory, and nutritive properties due to the gentle processes applied. Thus, this concept is gaining ground globally. The domestic market for the semi-processed and RTE packaged food industry has estimated a growth rate of 25% and 40% in metropolitan cities.

Land Area Requirement

Land should be located near the growing Agri-cluster area easily connected with the Transportation Facility. The Project Land/Building should also have easy availability of water and electricity. The ideal land requirement for the project is a minimum of 1000 Sq. Mtr.
