The primary objective of the scheme is mandated with the task of agro-industries development and export promotion of food products from the country. Under this scheme, the Government grants financial assistance to the exporters of the agricultural and processed food products.
APEDA providing financial assistance of 40% in general area and 75% for North – Eastern States, difficult areas namely Himalayan and land locked states, Island Union Territories, SC/ST and women beneficiaries ceiling of Rs. 200lakh

APEDA recognizes the importance of infrastructure for growth of agro-industries and export of agricultural products in the value chain. The scheme component covers both fresh produce and processed food products. It reduce losses caused due to spoilage and to ensure quality production of agro products. To achieve this, it seeks to set up post-harvest handling facilities.
This Scheme helps exporters to achieve market access in new markets and help sustain their presence in the existing markets
