Scenario of State of Nagaland
Nagaland is located in the Northeast of India. The state is surrounded by Myanmar in the east, Arunachal Pradesh in the north, Assam in the west and Manipur in the south. Kohima, Dimapur, Mokokchung, Tuensang, Wokha, Mon and Zunheboto are some of the key cities in the state.
Paddy, maize, sugarcane, potato and tea are grown on a large scale in the state. Nagaland has basically an agricultural economy. Over 70% of the population is dependent on agriculture. The main crops are rice, millet, maize and pulses. Cash crops like sugarcane and potato are also becoming popular. Coffee, cardamom and tea are grown as plantation crops in Nagaland.

At current prices, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Nagaland was about Rs 0.24 trillion (US$ 3.74 billion) in 2017-18.

Nagaland’s GSDP increased at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of around 11.83 per cent between 2011-12 and 2017 -18.
